The Bulgarian government said firms from the tourism sector will be able to apply by the end of the year for funds for innovations, energy efficiency, renewable energy and energy storage systems and for working capital. There is EUR 102 million prepared for grants for green energy and batteries.
The ministries of tourism and innovation and growth have presented the funding programs for the tourism sector from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. Companies in the sector, which is indirectly included in the mechanism, can obtain aid through several public calls for digitalization, energy efficiency, renewable energy and energy storage systems, and for working capital.
Minister of Innovation and Growth Alexander Pulev, who spoke at the event in Varna with Minister of Tourism Ilin Dimitrov, said the procedure has been launched for EUR 15.6 million for cyber security and solutions in the sphere of information and communications technology or ICT.

The scheme is for small and medium-sized enterprises including the tourism sector. The grants, which require no financial contribution from the beneficiary, are from EUR 1,530 to EUR 10,200, the Ministry of Tourism said.
Firms from the tourism industry will be able to apply by the end of the year under the upcoming call for renewable energy systems for own consumption and for storage solutions. The budget amounts to EUR 102 million. The sector is also entitled to guarantee instruments worth almost EUR 150 million for growth, energy efficiency and renewable energy.
There is EUR 281 million available from the Competitiveness and Innovation in Enterprises 2021-2027 program for development and innovations
The sector can also tap into the EUR 281 million in funds from the Competitiveness and Innovation in Enterprises 2021-2027 program for development and innovations, the officials said. They added that companies active in the tourism businesses have access to EUR 115 million in unsecured loans from the Fund of Funds and the Bulgarian Development Bank, for working capital.
